MEET PASTOR & SISTER DRAPER

Rander E. Draper, Sr., is a native of Houston, Texas, and the eldest of six siblings. He developed an immense love and passion for music, which prompted him to pursue advanced studies in music at Texas Southern University. He had the opportunity to perform internationally and domestically as a member of the university's concert choir and opera workshop, showcasing his booming baritone voice. Initially, he pursued a career in education in Houston, but later, he sensed God's call to preach the gospel. He completed his Graduate Diploma from Dallas Bible College and his Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Studies from Covington Theological Seminary in Rossville, Georgia. After receiving his education, he obeyed God's call and stepped out in faith, leaving his teaching career and relocating his family to San Antonio, where he pastored his first church.

Led by the Spirit of God, Pastor Draper founded Maranatha Bible Church in Northeast San Antonio in 1988. He has been serving as the senior pastor for the past 31 years. Through his radio ministry, he spreads the message of the gospel to people around the world. Pastor Draper and his wife, Darlene, have been working side-by-side for over 41 years, preaching and teaching the Good News of Jesus Christ both at Maranatha and during their extensive travels.

Darlene Draper hails from San Antonio, Texas, and has been married to Pastor Rander E. Draper, Sr., for over 41 years. Darlene has accrued over 45 years of experience throughout her career, with 35 spent working alongside her husband, Pastor Rander. Together, they founded the Maranatha Bible Church and traveled the world, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and leading conferences for pastors' wives. Darlene's expertise in family life education, which she developed through her Bachelor of Studies degree from Oasis University, Trinidad, and her Master's degree from Oxford Graduate School, is a testament to her commitment to empowering people with knowledge and uplifting their spirits.

As Maranatha's Director of Ministries, Darlene has organized multiple church ministries and is an advisor to many. Her leadership within the Missions Ministry and Women's Ministry has been noteworthy, as she strives to promote and foster spiritual growth by facilitating Bible studies and special events.

Darlene’s favorite scripture is Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in
us.” She believes God has showered His abundant blessings upon Maranatha because she
stands firmly on the four foundational pillars of the church: The Word of God, Prayer,
Missions/Evangelism, and Worship/Fellowship.
