We believe that all people need God and we embrace people of all races and ethnicities. Heaven is multi-ethnic and multi-cultural. We believe the church on earth should mirror heaven. In Matthew 28:19 Jesus exhorts us to “… go and make disciples of all nations….” We have a very strong focus on evangelism, demonstrated through outreach and missions ministries at home and abroad. Spreading the gospel is a command that we take very seriously and believe every member can participate in some way in doing this.
Maranatha is a church that believes in the family. We have a strong focus on building families as the foundation of our society. This includes both children and adults. Ministries for children are an important part of our church. We also believe that the Family of God should encourage and support one another so we offer many opportunities to help one another such as our Triumphant Support Cancer Ministry, Divorce Care, and three different Singles Ministries (based on age).
At Maranatha people are encouraged to be creative in worshipping and praising God. Our Silent Praise dance ministry was born of this creativity and it has reached people all over the city of San Antonio with a worshipful interpretation of Christian music that blends sign language and dance. There are dance groups for all ages, from the very young to the very old (Silver Praise).
We are eager for you to learn more about our church. This website has descriptions of many, but not all, of our ministries. We encourage you to come and visit us and learn more. Maranatha means “The Lord is Coming, or Come Lord”. Come and join us as we prepare for His coming!
